The drama television series Resurrection was officially canceled by ABC on Thursday.

Shortly after the official announcement was made, Resurrection star Frances Fisher responded to the news on her Twitter page .

Whatever…

Frances Fisher played Lucille Langston, the elderly mother of a young boy (Jacob) who accidentally drowned over 30 years prior to being resurrected. A concerned fan responded to Frances Fisher’s cryptic tweet, asking if everything was okay.

@Frances_Fisher …everything ok? I hope so!

Fisher responded to the fan’s question by simply saying “I’m unemployed again.”

“ @Tweakm : @Frances_Fisher …everything ok? I hope so!” I’m unemployed again

Frances Fisher later thanked loyal Resurrection fans for their support in another tweet, which also mentioned quite a few of the show’s cast members from the first and second seasons.

Dear loyal #Resurrection fans, Thxx for the LOVE @ @LoriBethSikes @kathleenmunroe @actortyoung @hildrethmark @parrack120 @samuelhazeldine

Dear loyal #Resurrection fans – Thxx for the Love! @LandonGimenez @tahitismith @DMurphyOfficial @samaire_samaire @Dev_Kelley @omarepps

Frances was not the only Resurrection star who responded to the news of the cancellation. The young actor that played her resurrected son Jacob, Landon Gimenez, also chimed to express his own sadness over the announcement.

Not an easy night. Very sad. I love you all.

— Landon Gimenez (@LandonGimenez) May 8, 2015

On Wednesday, Gimenez joined the numerous fans of the show that were essentially campaigning on Twitter to promote a renewal for Resurrection .

If you want a season 3 tell #abc to #RenewResurrection and get everyone on board!!!

— Landon Gimenez (@LandonGimenez) May 6, 2015

However, the #RenewResurrection efforts were apparently not successful. On a brighter note, it seems that quite a few of the cast members have already moved on to different projects.

For instance, actor Mark Hildreth (whose character Tom Hale died in Season 2) let his fans know that he is already working out “for the next great show.”

So sorry guys. But I’m already working out for the next great show! http://t.co/6pioUg4AbA #Resurrection #ResHeads pic.twitter.com/EB2usuuPVM

Actress Kathleen Munroe is guest starring on an upcoming episode of the CTV series, Motive .

Also you guys: on SUNDAY I’m a stone cold killer. #MOTIVE https://t.co/ZamctgYOf0

Although many Resurrection fans were searching for a third chapter to the supernatural drama series, Deadline confirmed that the network has decided to bring the story to an end with just the two chapters.

In its first season, Resurrection proved to be a major hit for the network. According to Deadline , the show delivered the strongest launch for a brand new series on ABC when it opened in spring 2014 after the Oscars.

Unfortunately, Resurrection was simply not able to keep that flame burning for very long, especially after the first season ended and the 13-episode second season began.
