The year 2008 was a rough one for television. Back then there was the Writer’s Strike to contend with, which saw writing crews with their pens down for months at a time. This proved to be a trying task for networks who were pushing new shows to audiences. Seasons were cut in half and many shows wound up as a casualty of the strike.

At the time, Pushing Daisies became ABC’s biggest casualty, as the show couldn’t survive the audience it ultimately lost in the second season and was cancelled after the 2008 -2009 season. Throughout the years, the strong fan base has voiced their opinion on unfinished character arcs, and possible ways creator Bryan Fuller could tie up the loose ends.

From a comic book series to a Broadway show to a film spin-off, years later fans of the show starring Lee Pace, are desperate to find a happy ending for the Pie Maker and his kooky gang. The film spin-off doesn’t seem too unlikely. The success of Veronica Mars ‘ film-changing Kickstarter campaign, the promise of a Pushing Daisies film seems like it may come to fruition if all parties involved sign on board.

Dan of Geek sat down with the show’s creator Fuller, who is currently promoting Hannibal . However, the two paused to talk about the Pushing Daisies film, and if Fuller would be interested in a Kickstarter funding project for the possibly film.

Fuller said about the Pushing Daisies film: “If we were able to pull off the Kickstarter, there’s a very fun zombie film that starts with a flash-flood in a cemetery and basically is about those denizens of that cemetery having to kill Ned before he can kill them, so it’s a different kind of zombie movie. ”

Sounds like a promising premise. Are you up for a Pushing Daisies movie via Kickstarter?
