Prince Harry , the fourth in line to the British throne, is getting ready to celebrate a milestone birthday in a couple of weeks. The fun-loving, trouble-making royal is turning 30 a week from Monday, September 15, and he will mark the occasion with a big bash.
One of the favorite members of the royal family, Prince Harry is also a constant topic on the front pages of British tabloids that hound the red-head all over the world. As any young, single, and very eligible bachelor, Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ youngest son has been in his share of trouble for is behavior, but undoubtedly, his subjects have a soft spot for the lad.
As Prince Harry prepares for his 30th birthday, there is a lot of talk about his new girlfriend, Camilla Thurlow. The couple reportedly spent a romantic holiday in Saint-Tropez — in the South of France — recently and supposedly are already discussing marriage. We take these stories with a giant grain of salt, since Harry has been less than steady in his private life, being tied to several women over the last few years.
Even though 30 is usually an age when many start thinking about settling down, for Prince Harry it hasn’t been easy. He still appears to be looking for that perfect lady who can not only put up with him, but all that it entails to enter into his family. According to some sources, Harry is spending most of his time getting to know Camilla better, as they took the trip with some friends.
As you may remember, last Spring Prince Harry was tied to Cressida Bonas, an aristocrat who disliked the public attention that came with being His Royal Highness’ lady. After two years of an on-again, off-again relationship, the two broke up a few weeks after a romantic vacation. There are no sings the Prince is ready to settle down .
But this is not a problem for Prince Harry, who is busy with his duties and organizing the first edition of the Invictus Games , an Olympics-style event which will see more than 400 wounded service men and women from 13 countries compete in a variety of sports. The Games will open on Wednesday, September 10, just days prior to the royal’s 30th birthday.
In a recent interview, Harry confessed that organizing the event was more difficult than he had anticipated and was nervous about the Invictus Games.
“It’s been a real wake-up call for me. Me and my big mouth, saying we’re going to fill the Olympic Stadium, we’re going to do this, do that. In my head it seemed very, very easy. In reality it’s been a real struggle.”
As Prince Harry gets ready for his 30th birthday, his royal subjects reflect on how proud his mother, the late Diana, would be of her son and the man he has become. For all his faults, most would agree that HRH has a big heart and willingness to help worthy causes.
