Prince George is going to turn 2 on July 22, and a new photo of the smiling toddler has been released. According to CNN , Kensington Palace shared the photo of the young prince as he hams it up for the camera while in his dad’s arms. The picture was taken at Princess Charlotte’s christening, as George is wearing his much-talked-about red and white outfit.
The red shorts and white and red top were nearly an exact match of the outfit that Prince William wore when he went with his dad to visit his newborn brother, Prince Harry, in the hospital back in 1984.

The new Prince George photo has gone viral on the web, as thousands of people have enjoyed seeing the happy face of the cutest royal ever (although Charlotte is certainly giving him a run!). The picture was taken by fashion photographer Testino, who was a favorite of Prince William’s late mother, Princess Diana.
Kensington Palace explained that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wanted to share the picture of their son in honor of his birthday.
“This photograph captures a very happy moment on what was a special day for The Duke and Duchess and their family. They are very pleased to share this picture as they celebrate Prince George’s second birthday.”
Prince George has grown up quite a bit over the past two years of his life. According to Mail Online , the world has watched this royal baby turn into a little boy , and has enjoyed every minute of it.
“From the first moment Kate and William appeared on the steps of the Lindo Wing on July 23, 2013, a day after George had been born – weighing in at a healthy 8 pounds 6 ounces, the world was smitten and has closely followed his journey into toddlerhood.”
As far as how Prince George will celebrate his second birthday, the palace has only said that it will be done “privately.” Details about how the royal family will spend their day are unknown.
This, of course, will be George’s first birthday as a big brother. He has been sharing the spotlight with Charlotte since May, but he doesn’t seem to mind. As previously reported by the Inquisitr , photos of the royal family taken at Charlotte’s christening were released shortly after the July 5 celebration.
