Pokemon GO players will soon be able to know their Pokemon’s battle stats as Niantic promises to roll out an update that would include a “Pokemon Appraisal” system among other “new features.”

One of the highlights of the upcoming Pokemon GO update is an Implemented Pokemon Appraisal which will allow players to learn their Pokemon’s attack and defense capabilities as explained by the leader of their chosen team.

According to the Popular Science, this means that players will soon be able to make use of Candela, Blanche, or Spark of Teams Valor, Mystic, and Instinct who usually pop-up to give a concise description of the captured Pokemon.

Players are currently relying on their Pokemon’s Combat Power (CP) to determine which ones to use during gym battles. A Pokemon’s CP can be leveled up as they evolve using Candies or increased with the use of both Candies and Star Dust that can only be earned by catching more Pokemon.

Popular Science explained that this will be improved with the help of the Team Leaders who will offer you a thorough breakdown of the Pokemon’s stats.

This means you will be able to determine which of the same type of Pokemon you capture have the greatest potential to win gym battles, making it easier to determine which ones you should Transfer in exchange for valuable Pokemon Candies.

An article from Forbes further explained that having this Pokemon GO update would basically put a modified individual values (IV) calculator on the game which would help determine which ones have greater potential and which ones should be let go.

“As an example: you’ve got two Bulbasaurs, one at 500 CP and one at 700. The one at 700 might seem more powerful, but the one at 500 may actually have higher IVs. This would mean that if you maxed both creatures out, the one with the highest IVs would end up more powerful,” the article reads.

Aside from the Pokemon Appraisal, Niantic promised to roll out “several new and exciting features” as well as “minor bot fixes” via the updated Pokemon GO version 0.35.0 for Android and 1.5.0 for iOS-powered devices.

Previous updates since its release include a Tracking System that allows users to determine how close he is to a Pokemon via the “Sightings” and “Nearby” features.

On August 9, Entertainment Weekly revealed that the Pokemon GO tracking system would sum up which Pokemon is close to the user’s location with the use of the nearby Pokestops.

The “Nearby” feature shows the player which Pokemon is close to a certain Pokestop, making deciding which direction to go to a whole lot easier.

The other feature called “Sightings” works much like the previous tracking system that only shows Pokemon that are close to the player’s vicinity.

Aside from these updates, Niantic has also made an effort to rid the game of players who engage in cheating activities including the use of third-party aid apps like PokéAdvisor.

Some of the players who were banned from the game made use of software that show fake GPS locations, thereby allowing them to be at different places quickly and without needing to go out and exert effort in capturing Pokemon for their collection.

Pokemon GO is a game based on the hit Nintendo franchise Pokemon which was also based on an anime about monsters that have special capabilities and can be trained and evolved to become more powerful.
