Parkland, the new JFK film starring Zac Efron, debuts a first dramatic trailer.

The movie is the recounting of the chaotic events that took place on the day President John F. Kennedy was murdered in Dallas, Texas while on an official visit with his wife Jacqueline.

More specifically, the events examine the way in which the arrival of the mortally wounded President was handled at Parkland Hospital on that tragic day.

The trailer begins with the broadcast of the President’s expected visit through the streets of Dallas and quickly breaks into what took place when he was shot.

We get a glimpse at amateur photographer Abraham Zapruder, who was filming the motorcade route that day and later became the focus of the investigation as one of the few videos of the assassination was captured by him.

Zac Efron, plays Jim Carrico, the attending physician at Parkland Hospital on that day. He is informed that President Kennedy is on his way and assumes is just a routine visit.

But that all changes dramatically in the next few minutes while JFK, who was shot in the head, is wheeled in by frantic hospital staff and secret service agents.

The clip shows how Zapruder was immediately singled out for the film he took and is forced to turn it over to investigators.

Parkland is directed and written by Peter Landesman and it stars Zac Efron, Tom Welling, Ron Livingston, Paul Giamatti, Billy Bob Thornton, and James Badge Dale.

The film had a budget of around $10 million.

President Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963 while riding on a convertible with his wife Jackie by his side. He was rushed to Parkland Hospital but the doctors’ efforts were in vain. His death is the focus of endless conspiracy theories, speculation, and a few movies.

Parkaland, with Zac Efron , premieres in theaters on September 20.
