Paris Hilton is well-known for her love of small dogs, but when the smallest Pomeranian in the world became available, she “had to have him.” The paparazzi star reportedly paid $13,000 for the tiny little furry love ball and declared him her “new boyfriend” and “little prince.” She made a series of social media posts featuring the little dog, including one showcasing her new boyfriend bundled up for a flight to Los Angeles with his new owner.
The social media craze went viral over Paris Hilton’s new beau. TMZ cooed that Paris Hilton’s new man “might crap her floor .” The tiny Pomeranian weighs only 11.6 ounces and is just 2.5 inches tall. The little guy is only five months old. Paris Hilton named her new pooch “Mr. Amazing.” The name may be temporary, however, as she asked fans on her various social media channels to suggest names for the teacup Pomeranian.
The hotel heiress can reportedly afford to buy the dog, of course, with the cost of her new friend being only about three minutes of DJ work for the newly-minted MC.
Teacup Pomeranians are not officially recognized as a breed by any showing or breeding organization, but they are part of a growing trend of miniaturizing dogs to smaller sizes. This trend often has the original breed name prefaced by “Teacup” or “Mini” and comprises dogs bred specifically to be very small. A Teacup Pomerenian is expected to be 1-3 pounds, as are most “teacup” breeds, making Paris Hilton’s new pal a very, very small dog. One that can, literally, fit within a teacup.
According to the Teacup Pomeranians website, the “teacup” craze is rife with scammers who will offer dogs of questionable heritage who look like the breed specified or pass puppies off as grown adults. It’s unlikely that Paris Hilton was the victim of such a scam, but some of her fans who wish to follow the star’s craze might be.
As it is, Mr. Amazing is now home fraternizing with his new brothers and sisters, all of which are part of Paris Hilton’s large collection of small dogs. The starlet-turned-DJ is often seen carrying one or more of her tiny dog pals.
