Even though five years has passed, it takes a brave woman to publicly detail her breakup pain.
Especially when your ex has met, remarried and spawned with a supermodel. But Straw Dogs actress Kate Bosworth has gamely opened her heart and discussed the searing heartbreak she experienced when she and Lord of the Rings actor Orlando Bloom parted ways back in 2006.
Bosworth didn’t mince words when discussing the difficulties in overcoming the relationship, and many can probably relate to her description of the pain she felt when the couple broke up. Bosworth dishes:
“Oh, I definitely know the feeling of pain, that’s for sure… You know when you put all your chips into something, then it disappears? …it sent me into such pain, I think I had actual vertigo. I was like, ‘Is this my new reality? Will anything be normal again?’”
Aw, celebrities- they’re just like us. Bosworth continues:
“Then one day… You wake up and you think, OK, I’ll never be the same, but I’ll survive and I’ll grow from it.”
Of course, not many of us get to soothe our broken hearts with the likes of Alexander Skarsgard, who Bosworth dated for a while after filming Straw Dogs. The actress, now dating director Michael Polish, even survived the dreaded sudden ex sighting earlier this year. An observer told US Weekly the former lovebirds even briefly hugged, but the run-in was relatively brief:
“They looked cordial… They were genuinely smiling to one another like friends, but didn’t linger very long.”
