ObamaCare Nightmare For Kentucky Family Might Hit Everybody

An ObamaCare nightmare hit a Kentucky family recently when the father checked the mail.

Bitter conservatives will probably see this as a form of triumph, but for Andy and Amy Mangione, ObamaCare is about to ruin their lives. The two share a family medical plan that includes their two boys, and the premium had been reasonable up to this point.

In 2014, their insurance premium is set to nearly triple, as a letter Andy Mangione found stated about a nationwide increase due to President Obama’s proposed healthcare program. Their payment per month had gone from $333 to $965. Their plan was the minimal version, and there was no history of poor health in the family, but suddenly their expenses looked to get a lot tighter for no reason they could determine.

Amy Mangione , whose Kentucky family was struck by the ObamaCare nightmare, said that it poses a new challenge for her, and possibly everybody in the household. She stated about the change, “I’m the one that does the budget. Eventually I’ve got that coming down the pike that I gotta figure out what we’re gonna cut what we’re gonna do, to afford a $1,000 a month premium.”

There was no comment from their health insurance company Humana, which said in the notice Andy Mangione found in the mail that the change was industry wide, regardless of your health status or claims. The only known factors they mentioned were ACA compliance and the addition of “new essential health benefits” to the plan.

For those who wonder, ACA is the acronym for the ironically named Affordable Care Act, signed into law by President Obama, which has made the Mangiones’ health care plan anything but affordable.

A spokesman for American Health Insurance Plans, Robert Zirkelbach, who represents insurers such as Humana, claims that anyone with a high deductible health plan will now be required to add certain benefits to their policy, which will raise the insurance premium.

The ObamaCare nightmare which hit the Kentucky family may be more common than we thought, and may even happen to you.
