What could bring Nina Dobrev back to her Vampire Diaries family? A new summertime wedding was responsible for reuniting Nina Dobrev with her former cast mates and friends from The Vampire Diaries . Before fans of Ms. Dobrev get too excited, this wasn’t a wedding featuring Nina and new boyfriend Austin Stowell.
In fact, the bride-to-be was none other than The Vampire Diaries’ Vicky Donovan, also known as actress Kayla Ewell, who was excited to be marrying fellow actor Tanner Novlan. The happy event brought Dobrev back to enjoy time reminiscing with her fellow Vampire Diaries actors, and Nina was only too happy to share a collage of photos taken at the bachelorette party with her Instagram followers.

The Vampire Diaries’ Caroline, Candice Accola, also shared a picture of Kayla in her wedding dress, and her caption seemed to echo her Vampire Diaries character’s big heart, as Ms. Accola reflected on seeing familiar faces. Ahem… Nina Dobrev.

Nina Dobrev shared this final picture showing old and new cast members interlocked in a semicircle of friendship, proving that, while Ms. Dobrev and Kayla Ewell may be gone from The Vampire Diaries , no one is ever truly forgotten. While Candice Accola was the only one of the trio to still be on The Vampire Diaries , it seems promising and uplifting to see that Dobrev and Ewell have maintained a friendship through the years.

That may be a familiar theme to fans of The Vampire Diaries who attended the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con this year. When asked about Nina’s departure from the show, Ms. Dobrev’s former co-stars responded in the best way.
“She’s still there, dude. She’s in a casket. She’s having a nap,” replied Ian Somerhalder.
Paul Wesley added that The Vampire Diaries is famous for bring back the dead, so it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility for Dobrev to return sooner or later.
The Vampire Diaries season premiere is scheduled to air on Thursday, October 8 on the CW network.
