Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill are no strangers to sparking engagement rumors, but after the “All Eyes On You” rapper gifted Minaj a stunning diamond ring for her birthday earlier this week, Nicki Minaj’s fans wasted no time in sharing the news with Minaj’s ex-boyfriend, Safaree Samuels.
On Tuesday, Nicki Minaj took to Instagram to share a photo of the stunning diamond ring that Meek Mill gifted to her in honor of her 33 rd birthday, captioning the shot with, “Now this is what I’m talking about baby. Lol. Love u,” before adding several kissing-face emojis followed by, “@meekmill ~ RANG finga whr da rock iiizzzzzzz.”

Minaj then posted another photo of her new ring from a different angle, telling fans, “This stone is flawless. (My voice) lol,” alongside several diamond and diamond ring emojis.
Not long after Nicki Minaj’s diamond ring photo was posted, fans took to the comments section of her photo to offer their congratulations to Minaj and Meek Mill on their engagement.
While most fans expressed their happiness and excitement for Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill, others took to Minaj’s ex-boyfriend’s Instagram page to let him in on the rumors surrounding Nicki and Meek’s alleged engagement, Bossipreports.
Shortly after Nicki posted photos of her ring, Minaj’s fans began spamming Safaree Samuels’ Instagram photos with diamond ring emojis, prompting an all-out feud between Safaree’s fans and Nicki’s fans on Instagram.
Similarly, some fans took to Twitter to weigh-in on the aggressive spamming of Safaree’s photos in an effort to diss Nicki’s former boyfriend with the news of her alleged engagement.
One fan explains , “Nicki dated meek for like 6 months and now engaged. Safaree had her 10/15 yrs. crazy,” while another adds , “Nicki gets engaged to Meek after what…Like a year maybe? I know Safaree gotta be sick lol.”
While Safaree Samuels appears to be untroubled by the Nicki and Meek engagement rumors, Samuels did throw a little shade at Nicki on her birthday after TMZ reporters asked Safaree if he had reached out to Minaj to wish her a happy birthday on Tuesday.
When asked if he had spoken to Nicki in honor of her birthday, Safaree simply smiled at the question before giving a shout out to his sister for her upcoming birthday.
While it’s unclear if the Nicki and Meek Mill engagement rumors had already gotten back to Safaree prior to the interview, it doesn’t appear that Samuels is focused on remaining amicable with Minaj following their breakup in 2014.
The news comes just days before Nicki Minaj seemingly dispelled the engagement rumors between herself and Meek Mill during her cover story interview with Billboard .
When asked if she and Meek were engaged, Nicki revealed, “He and I are not engaged. But he said he would like to give me three rings before we get married. My birthday’s coming up, and he better get the new one, because he got [the first one] for my last birthday. So let’s see what happens.”
Despite the confirmation, fans began to point out that the interview was conducted before Nicki received her ring from Meek Mill, further fueling the engagement speculation.
However, sources close to Nicki Minaj recently revealed to TMZ that while Nicki and Meek are “deeply in love” and want to get married “soon,” Minaj is telling friends that her birthday gift from Meek Mill was nothing more than a birthday present, emphasizing it is not an engagement ring.
Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill previously sparked engagement rumors earlier this year after Minaj shared a photo of herself donning a giant heart-shaped diamond ring on her engagement finger; however, Minaj later denied the engagement claims.
