The X-Files celebrated its 22 nd Anniversary on Thursday, and the New York Comic Con celebrated it in a big way by announcing the franchise’s return episode will be screened on October 10, during the wildly pop-culture event.

According to Entertainment Weekly , the 2015 Comic Con screening won’t be the worldwide premiere, but will be the first viewing in the United States. On October 6, the series’ highly-anticipated return episode, titled “My Struggle,” will premiere at MIPCOM in Cannes, France.

The New York Comic Con website reveals the screening will take place on October 10 at 1:15 p.m. on the main stage of the Javits Center. X-Files star David Duchovny will appear in a special Q&A session after the screening, alongside series creator Chris Carter. The session will be moderated by Kumail Nanjiani, comedian and host of the popular X-Files Files podcast.

The return of the franchise isn’t just big news for the series’ fans, but also for Fox, according to a statement issued by executives Gary Newman and Dana Weldman.

“ The X-Files was not only a seminal show for both the studio and the network, it was a worldwide phenomenon that shaped pop culture—yet remained a true gem for the legions of fans who embraced it from the beginning. We’re ecstatic to give them the next thrilling chapter of Mulder and Scully they’ve been waiting for.”

The X-Files aired 202 episodes from 1993 to 2002. The franchise also produced The X-Files , a 1998 feature length film that carried the show’s stories from the season five finale to the season six premiere. In 2008, Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny returned for a second theatrical release titled The X-Files: I Want To Believe . While it had more than one quip from the show’s long-run, the second movie did not follow any of the previous storylines, instead serving as a standalone thriller.

The X-Files revival just completed filming on September 5, gearing fans up for the New York Comic Con premiere. As with most shows, spoilers are already circulating the Internet.

It wasn’t long ago that the series’ return run was merely a tease for X-Files fans. Star Gillian Anderson excited Twitter followers with her acknowledgment of the return in March.
