Resident Evil , one of the most iconic franchises in video games, is receiving its first episodic release amongst the new video game releases for the week of February 22, 2015. The critically-acclaimed Resident Evil: Revelations first debuted on the Nintendo 3DS in 2012 and was hailed has a return to form for the series after a disappointing turn with Resident Evil 6 . In terms of numbers, the PlayStation platform again wins out in quantity of content with a total of 11 releases and six of those exclusive to the platform for this week. Meanwhile, Microsoft’s Xbox platform receives a respectable five with one impressive looking indie exclusive which is a great deal more than Inquisitr’s list from last week .

Resident Evil Revelations 2 is the first episodic release for a Resident Evil title. The latest entry is set between the events of Resident Evil 5 and 6 . It also brings Claire Redfield back as a playable character who was last used in Resident Evil Code: Veronica. In Episode 1, Claire is part of a government organization called Terra Save, which works to help victims of biological weapons. As is apt to happen in a Resident Evil game, things go wrong and Calire and her co-workers are kidnapped by an unknown force and moved to a deserted island. A really scary one.

Pneuma: Breath of Life is an Unreal Engine 4 game that is releasing on the Xbox One on February 27. The first person puzzler promises to put players on a journey of self-discovery while exploring the fundamental nature of being. You play as Pneuma, whose name is the Greek word for breath and is often translated as “spirit” or “soul.” Pneuma’s comical self-obsessed inner monologue will keep you company as you play through the game to experience a story that the developer claims can only be told through the interactive medium of video games.
