The marketing campaign behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens is about to kick into high gear, as the film’s newest trailer has been confirmed for release on Monday, October 19. The official poster for the movie (featuring its sure-to-be iconic official logo) is set to precede the new clip, and will be released to the public a day before the trailer.
The newest Star Wars trailer will actually be the final one released for The Force Awakens , according to ScreenCrush . It is set to be the first new footage to debut from the highly-anticipated film since a 15-second-long clip was posted to Instagram by Disney in August.

The trailer will reportedly air during a special Star Wars themed Monday Night Football on ESPN (which is also owned by Disney), and will be unveiled at halftime. Ticket pre-sales for The Force Awakens will go live around the same moment that the trailer is released. In addition to Star Wars themed graphics, the promotion will include the film series’ iconic opening crawl, while the ESPN fantasy app will feature Star Wars graphics and avatars, as well.

Pre-sale ticketing for The Force Awakens will apparently take two forms. In addition to the film itself, many theaters will also be offering tickets to the Star Wars Marathon , which begins with The Phantom Menace at 4:00 a.m. on December 17. It concludes later that evening with Star Wars: The Force Awakens , with a 7:00 p.m. showing. Those tickets will reportedly cost $50. Pre-sale tickets for the single film will be for showings beginning at 7:00 p.m. as well, and tickets for dates as far away as January 3 will be available for purchase.
The imminent release of the final The Force Awakens trailer and pre-sale tickets aren’t the only things fans have to look forward to in the coming days. According to Slashfilm , the trailer’s release will be preceded by the reveal of the film’s official poster, which will debut on Sunday, October 18. Just like with previous films in the Star Wars saga, the poster will also feature the movie’s official logo.

In the original Star Wars trilogy, each film was given a wildly different title treatment, while the prequel trilogy kept a uniform series of logos throughout its entire arc. While fans will have to wait until the release of Star Wars: Episode VIII to find out which path Disney chose in regards to the newest trilogy, Sunday’s poster release will give them their first taste of what the company has in store regarding the logo aesthetic for the upcoming films. Painted by artist Drew Struzan (who is responsible for the preceding six posters as well as numerous others in Hollywood history), the one-sheet comes after a special poster for The Force Awakens was distributed to attendees of Disney’s D23 expo earlier this year.

The exact form that the Star Wars Marathon will take remains an open question. It is unclear which versions of the original trilogy films will be shown, though it is likely that the more recently released Blu-Ray versions will be utilized. It remains to be seen whether the 2-D or 3-D versions of the prequel trilogy will be shown, yet it is clear that the marathon and early ticket sales will allow the most hardcore Star Wars fans to see The Force Awakens one day ahead of its official release date.
