There is a new threat being issued by ISIS via a video that targets New York’s Times Square. As seen in the below video titled “ISIS Threatens New York City in New Propaganda Video” by NBC Nightly News , the new ISIS threat video shows images of New York City and Times Square, designed to strike fear in the hearts of New Yorkers.

The description of the NBC Nightly News video explains the contents, even as the video itself shows scenes from the original ISIS video. NBC does not show the full ISIS video.

“The nearly five minute video congratulates the Islamic State for the deadly Paris attacks and ends with a chilling montage of Times Square, suggesting New York City could be a target.”

Plenty of still images from the new ISIS video threatening Times Square can be seen on the Daily Mail website. The professional-looking photos and images and video footage seen in the Times Square threat video by ISIS shows a man wrapping up a suspicious package — explosives — and putting them on his body and then zipping up the bomb inside his brown leather jacket.

Next, the ISIS video — which is more than 5 minutes long — shows a crowded Times Square. Manhattanites, and tourists crowd Times Square, as cab drivers perform their daily duties in Times Square as well. That’s when the ISIS video shows the man pulling a grenade type of clip, or some other kind of detonation device.

The ISIS video that threatens to set off a bomb in Times Square in New York City has been seen by NYPD, reports Pix11 . The NYPD’s statement about the ISIS video lets viewers know that some of the footage in the new ISIS video isn’t actually new at all. However, other images from the Paris attacks included in the new ISIS video prove that the video has been updated with recent terrorist events.

“We are aware of the newly-released ISIS video that mentions Times Square. While some of the video footage is not new, the video reaffirms the message that New York City remains a top terrorist target. In addition, we are continuing to deploy additional Critical Response Command (CRC) teams throughout the City, out of an abundance of caution.”

Although the entire video from ISIS doesn’t focus solely on Times Square, surely the video’s images of suicide bombers entering New York City would rattle the nerves of any New Yorker who lived through the September 11 tragedy. And thoughts of how this new ISIS video will affect the normally lively New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square has to be on the minds of the most steeled New Yorkers.

The new ISIS video, replete with normal everyday file footage types of scenes from Times Square, is striking a nerve among U.S. citizens. It even includes parts of French President Francois Hollande’s speech wherein he promised to hit ISIS. The threat against Times Square can be added onto a previous threat issued by ISIS to attack Washington, D.C.

A prior “kill list” of other cities and states in the U.S. that ISIS has threatened in the past has also made the rounds. As a result of the new ISIS video, NYPD has promised to be more vigilant, and the term Times Square is trending on Twitter, with at least 10,400 tweets about the location coming into Twitter.

ISIS is also trending on Twitter, with 981,000 tweets coming into Twitter about the group.

Mayor Bill de Blasio also commented on the ISIS video, with words that proved New Yorkers won’t live in fear of ISIS.

“Stoking fear is the goal of terrorist organizations, but New York City will not be intimidated. The NYPD is the most capable police force in the country, with a robust counterterrorism operation that was just strengthened with an investment of 500 additional officers. While Times Square and Herald Square appear in the video, the NYPD in conjunction with all of our partners are taking all necessary security precautions in these areas and areas across the City. New Yorkers won’t live in fear and people should continue to go to work, live their lives, and enjoy the greatest city in the world.”
