NeNe Leakes is hoping the eighth season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta will bring fresh faces to the show. The RHOA star said Monday that one prerequisite for being a Housewife should be that one is actually married.
Leakes made a guest appearance on Live with Kelly and Michael on Monday to discuss her thoughts after Sunday’s RHOA reunion episode. As Reality Tea reports, NeNe would not divulge whether she would return for the eighth season of the show, but she did say there needs to be a major shakeup in the Real Housewives of Atlanta cast.
“They need to get rid of some folks… the show IS called Housewives, isn’t it? So you need to be married to be on the show. Listen, I think that over the years the show has become very negative and there has been some people thrown in the mix that come negative and made the show negative so I think they should recast. I don’t mind if there’s one girl, maybe two girls, that aren’t married because it’s always great to see a single girl like dating and all that kind of stuff. But to have as many girls as we have on our show that aren’t married, I think we need to get rid of a couple.”
Although NeNe Leakes did not name names, fans can surmise she would not be heartbroken if two of her single co-stars, Claudia Jordan and Kenya Moore, were not to return for the next season of RHOA .
The Broadway star told the hosts of Live with Kelly and Michael the women who attacked her on the first part of the RHOA reunion did so because she is a threat and will always be a threat. Although the other housewives want to knock “the queen off her throne,” she is not going anywhere. As the Inquisitr previously reported, in a separate interview on Monday with Access Hollywood , Leakes said while she may have been friends with one of the other Housewives in the past, Cynthia Bailey, she has no intention of being friends with any of the other cast members (sans Phaedra Parks).
“But the rest of these girls, I probably won’t ever be friends with. We’re not in high school. They keep talking about us being friends. We’re not high school. We’re grown women.”
Bravo has made no formal announcements as to the status of any RHOA cast members. However, it is rumored NeNe Leakes will return for the eighth season of the show.
Part two of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion will air Sunday, May 3 at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
