The Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes did something on last week’s episode that shocked everyone, including her former best friend, Cynthia Bailey. Leakes apologized for her behavior at the dinner table, where she made comments about Claudia Jordan’s sex life. As many of the co-stars would say, Leakes disappeared and “NayNay” came out instead, hurling accusations left and right to see what would stick.

But during the trip, NeNe Leakes had expected that the apology would be accepted and that they could move forward. However, Jordan wasn’t exactly thrilled at the apology and she wasn’t ready to make peace with NeNe. Now it appears that Leakes is somewhat retracting that apology because she was left humiliated.

According to a new Bravo report, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes is revealed that she only apologized to Claudia so she could have peace with herself. It wasn’t to make peace with Jordan and genuinely be sorry for what was said in hopes of mending the friendship.

“Apologies are needed and there are times when we act out and make mistakes, and you just have to say, ‘I’m sorry!’ Saying you’re sorry doesn’t mean you’re weak, and it doesn’t mean you’re a bad person; but for me, it certainly meant I had a moment where I felt my behavior was inappropriate and I wanted to take full responsibility for that,” NeNe explained, but later added that she really isn’t sorry because she stands behind what was said.

“With that said, I never said I lied about anything, I just felt some things didn’t have to be said in that setting,” NeNe Leakes explained, adding, “Many times with this group I’m damned if I do and damned if I don’t, as you saw when I tried apologizing. These girls don’t want to let it go. They want to keep it going with me for as long as possible.”

And in the end of her long defense of her apology, Nene Leakes got to the root of her apology. She only apologized so she could have peace with herself.

“Even though my apology was not fully accepted, I’m glad I was able to at least offer it, because having peace within myself was good enough for me,” Leakes concluded.

According to the Inquisitr , NeNe may have met her match in Claudia as the two of them will fight one another verbally without backing down. Many believe NeNe only apologized because she couldn’t convince Jordan that she was better than her. As for Claudia, she doesn’t want to be the victim of NeNe’s bullying .
