NEC on Tuesday debuted the MultiSync EX231Wp-BK a 23-inch LED backlit monitor that offers 1920 x 1080 pixels of HD resolution with a PVA panel and high viewing angels (178 degrees vertical and horizontal).
The Wp-BK also includes a contract of 3000:1 and offers human and ambient light sensors for screen brightness energy saving.
According to NEC the devices LED backlit display setup allows the larger monitor to use less power while radiating less heat, they also package the monitor to use less cardboard which for another green touch. Throw in recycled plastics, no hazardous materials and touch-sensitive OSD controls and what you are left with is a nice looking green device that uses simple technology to go a long way in the green world.
For users looking for connectivity options they’ll find a DisplayPort and DVI-I output along with standard VGA and DVI-I inputs for multi-monitor setup. The monitor also offers a USB pass-through port with a quick-release stand.
Shipping with USB and a DVI cable, along with a 15-pin D-sub to DVI-A adapter the monitor can be had for $319.
