NBC has renewed Last Call with Carson Daly for a 13th season.
The network announced Wednesday that the talk show would be returning for another season.
“We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Carson who has broken the mold, creating his own unique late-night show format with Last Call ,” NBC president of alternative and late night programming Paul Telegdy said. “The show has become a platform for emerging artists – and Carson’s engaging interview style has made it the place for insightful conversations with an eclectic group of new stars as well as established icons and news makers.”
Daly was equally excited to learn of the renewal.
“I’m extremely proud of what we’ve accomplished with Last Call . I love coming to work every day and having the opportunity to collaborate with this incredible team,” he said. “We are always looking to give viewers something new and fresh that they can’t find anywhere else on television. I’m grateful to have the chance to continue doing what I love the most.”
Last Call with Carson Daly airs weeknights at 1:35 am. The show started in 2002, with over 1,000 episodes airing so far. Similar to other late-night shows, Last Call features interviews with musicians, filmmakers, and others, as well as pre-taped musical performances.
In addition to hosting Last Call , Carson Daly also hosts The Voice . The singing competition returned for its fourth season on March 25 and has performed steadily in the ratings since then, drawing over 13 million viewers for almost every episode so far. The exceptions are the March 26 episode, which drew only 12.41 million viewers, and the April 8 episode, which drew a season high of 14.03 million viewers.
Last Call ‘s renewal comes at a time when NBC is shaking up its lineup. It was recently announced that Jimmy Fallon would be taking over The Tonight Show from Jay Leno, and it was reported that Alec Baldwin was in talks to take over Daly’s 1:35 am timeslot.
