The Los Angeles Dodgers were leading the Washington Nationals by a score of 2-1 thanks to an Adrian Gonzalez two-run blast when a bank of lights near the third base line suffered a power outage , per MLB .

Play resumed for a brief period at Nationals Park in Washington until the top of the fifth inning, with the Dodgers at bat, when the lights went out for a second time.

As is usually the case with these situations, people took to Twitter to vent their frustrations, and the results are pretty funny.

. @Nationals put #Nats Park on 15 day DL, recall RFK Stadium.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Nationals star outfielder Bryce Harper did not participate in this year’s home run derby due to his father’s shoulder surgery, and is currently 0-1 at the plate tonight with two walks (one intentional).

Play once again resumed in the bottom of the fifth inning, as the Nats’ Yunel Escobar crushed a two-run homer to left field. Washington now leads 3-2 as of 10:34 p.m. EST.

UPDATE: The lights have now gone out for a third time at Nationals Park in the top of the sixth inning, and the umpires have decided to call it a night. More than likely the game will be resumed tomorrow, or as part of a double-header down the road.
