You may have noticed that Naomi Campbell has been using a wheelchair and crutches over the last few weeks. Well, it turns out that the supermodel suffered her injuries during a violent mugging in Paris last month.
Maybe.
Reports surfaced this morning that Campbell was mugged while trying to hail a cab last month in Paris. A group of thugs reportedly knocked the star down and stole her belongings. It’s unclear what the thieves took, but a source claims that they were targeting the model’s expensive jewelry.
One source told Fox News :
“It was terrifying. Naomi believes the assailant had been watching her, casing her out, and waited for a moment to strike when she was alone. She was attacked in the street as she hailed a cab, and robbed. Her leg was injured as she was violently pushed to the ground. She was understandably very upset and shaken up.”
Campbell suffered a torn ligament in her leg during the incident.
The Daily Mail , however, questions the legitimacy of the report. For one, could you really see Naomi Campbell hailing her own cab? And two, the supermodel has not commented on the incident, which allegedly happened last month, and no official police report was filed.
A police source told the Daily Mail :
“A high profile celebrity being attacked in Paris would be something everybody remembers. If such a serious crime had taken place then a criminal enquiry would have started by now – especially if the victim ended up in a wheelchair.”
