MySpace COO Leaving to Form New Startup

MySpace Chief Operating Officer Amit Kapur is leaving the social network to start his own tech company. Two other senior MySpace execs will join him, according to published reports .

Kapur, engineering manager Jim Benedetto, and product strategy head Steve Pearman will wrap up their time at MySpace within the coming weeks, the company has confirmed. Kapur had been in charge of MySpace’s open code initiative. He had been with MySpace for four years and is credited with helping create its mobile interface and its MySpace Music service.

The details of the trio’s startup have not yet been publicly discussed.
