Monica Wright and Kevin Durant are reportedly engaged to be married. The news was first reported by Media Takeout on Sunday,
While Durant hasn’t spoken publicly about his relationship with Wright, the two have been rumored to be dating since May. The NBA player has also attended two Minnesota Lynx games this summer.
A sideline reporter spotted Durant at the Lynx-Sparks WNBA game last week when Wright was playing and began to ask him questions about why Durant was watching the game. But the only thing Durant revealed was a blush .
When asked why he was attending the Lynx game last week, Durant said simply, “I like women’s basketball.” And when the reporter pressed him further by asking if he was there for anyone specific, the NBA player said, “I come to see all of them.”
Still, Monica Wright has posted a few pictures of herself in Thunder gear, including a Durant jersey. She also posted a photo of herself wearing a sweatshirt and shorts, standing next to a much taller Durant.
According to the reports, Kevin Durant popped the question on July 6 and Monica Wright said, “Yes.” While neither player has confirmed the engagement, Media Takeout obtained a photo of Monica showing off her new ring.
Reports have said that Wright and Durant have been friends since high school . Wright attended Forest Park High School in Woodbridge, Virginia, about 30 minutes from Washington, D.C. In turn, Durant planed basketball at National Christian Academy, Oak Hill Academy, and Montrose Christian School near Washington, D.C.
Along with apparently being close in high school, Kevin has previously linked himself with Monica Wright. In a tweet in 2011, Durant wrote, “Or maybe I need a basketball playing girlfriend…hmm lol…monica wright where r u(love and basketball.”
And after Durant donated $1 million toward tornado relief in Oklahoma two months ago, Wright stated of her rumored boyfriend, “He’s got a heart of gold, and anytime [something like] this happens, he’s the first one who wants to help. He’s a really compassionate guy.”
Monica Wright’s engagement to Kevin Durant is only rumored at this point, and it is unclear if, or when, the couple will confirm or deny the rumors.
