Updated: The family of five have been identified. Neighbors of the victimes and the father’s company identified the victimes as Brian and Karen Short and their children Cole, 17, Madison, 15, and Brooklyn, 14. Brian Short was a nurse and founder of AllNurse.com which posted the following on Thursday.

“It is with great regret and a very heavy heart that I have to share some very sad news with you. There is no easy way to say this. We just found out this afternoon that Brian and his family have passed away. The news is calling it an apparent murder-suicide, but this has not been verified by the authorities and details have not yet been released. No matter what the details are, the results are still the same…a very tragic loss for the extended families, friends, co-workers, and this nursing community.”

On Thursday, five people, which included three children, were found dead inside of their Minneapolis home. According to authorities, there are indications that the deaths are a result of a murder-suicide.

South Lake Minnetonka Police Chief Mike Siitari said, “Officers responded to the residence on Channel Drive in Greenwood and, unfortunately, found an entire family of five deceased.”

The South Lake Minnetonka Police were sent to a home in Greenwood, which is west of Minneapolis, after a co-worker of one of the victims became worried because they did not show up to work. Officials at the children’s school were also concerned when the children did not show up for their classes for the last two days . That was when officers responded and found the bodies inside the home just after noon, according to USA Today .

Siitari said that the situation was tragic but there was no danger to the public.

Not many details have surfaced from the murder-suicide. The Daily Mail reported that a couple owned the home and had one son which was 17 years old, and two daughters who were 14 and 15 years old. The names and how the victims were killed have not yet been released.

According to the Star Tribune , the house was bought in 2011 by Brian and Karen Shor t. Brian Short founded the highly successful website AllNurses.com , which provides information and resources for and about the nursing profession.

The Tribune continued to report that the victims suffered “traumatic” injuries. Three of the victims were found in the basement of the house while another was found in a lower-level bedroom.
