It looks like Mike Tyson just won’t let his volatile relationship with ex-wife Robin Givens die out. Now the former heavyweight boxing champion is insisting that Robin Givens and her “ruthless” mother have conspired against him for the sake of money.
In a chapter from Tyson’s memoir Undisputed Truth , Mike goes into detail about how his then wife faked her own pregnancy so she could receive millions from Tyson. He also claims that she and her mother were, “On the prowl for a big black celebrity for Robin.”
For Mike Tyson and Robin Givens the relationship accelerated pretty quickly. It was only eleven months after their first date that the pair were married. Even their marriage is being put up to task by Tyson, who claims that Givens’ mother arranged the whole thing, because at the time, Givens, was also pregnant.
In order to feel security as a newly pregnant woman, Robin Givens and her mother allegedly went mansion hunting so Robin would have a place to settle into. According to Mike Tyson this was all at his expense. In the memoir Tyson claims that his accountant called him when Robin and her mother demanded that Tyson release $5 million dollars from his account to purchase a home in New Jersey.
Mike Tyson gave Robin Givens and her mother the money in addition to another $10 million, which was then put into a separate account. During this time Tyson writes that Robin Givens had miscarried their baby.
In his memoir Mike Tyson writes:
“She was supposedly three months pregnant when we got married. Now it was June and she hadn’t gained a pound, so the next thing I knew she was in bed and claimed she had miscarried our baby.”
Although this is a pretty lofty accusation to make about anyone, we’re not surprised it’s coming from this couple. As the story goes, after her miscarriage in 1988 Robin Givens’ marriage to Mike Tyson fell apart. To this date she still claims that she suffered spousal abuse from Tyson and didn’t receive a penny from their divorce.
