Is Melissa Gorga’s new house still happening? According to a new report, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star’s dreams of a new home may be on hold.
Although Joe and Melissa Gorga bragged about their dream home earlier this year, Radar Online revealed on December 18 that the couple has just moved back into their Montville estate.
The Gorgas are “now selling the Franklin Lakes lot where they had already started construction, and have moved back into their dilapidated Montville mansion,” the site reported . “The couple entered the Montville mansion into a lease to purchase agreement with New Jersey businessman Kai Patterson in 2013, and started construction on a new house of their own. But the tenant later claimed to have discovered thousands of dollars in repairs were needed when he employed his own home inspection.”
As they rented a smaller place, Joe took legal action against his tenant, claiming he failed to pay rent. Unfortunately for the Gorgas, a judge denied his motion to evict Patterson, and now, they’ve been left to pay the bills for their Montville home.
After taking on those bills, the reality stars reportedly pulled the plug on Melissa Gorga’s new house, and chose to instead put the property on the market for $1.2 million.
According to the property listing, the landowner can build a European Tuscan villa with “celebrity designs.”
“Plans already available and foundations is completed, just waiting for you to have brand new construction! All permits have been obtained including pool. Don’t miss this chance or opportunity for a customized new construction masterpiece.”
Days before Thanksgiving, Gorga confirmed she and Joe moved back to their old home on Instagram, telling fans , “There is NO place like home especially for the holidays. #happiness #family #neverleavingagain.”
In other Gorga news, Joe was reportedly involved in a car chase earlier this month. As the Inquisitr reported, the reality star allegedly chased a reporter away from his Montville residence.
“A reporter was scoping out the house of Joe and Melissa. There’s been some talk around town of the two having marital problems since the show wrapped. Joe ended up seeing the reporter, and that’s when things got bad,” a source revealed to Rumorfix ‘s Real Mr. Housewife. “The reporter went to drive off. Joe had clearly scared him off. However, that wasn’t enough for Joe! He got in his car and proceeded to chase the reporter and attempt to chase him off the road.”
Although Melissa Gorga’s new house would certainly be a site to see, she appears to be perfectly happy returning to Montville.
