Mariah Carey has been demonstrating just how versatile and talented she is musically and in other ventures over the past few months by taking on a successful Vegas residency and taking the director’s seat for her soon-to-air Christmas special for the Hallmark channel.
It seems that Carey has only experienced positive circumstances since her split from ex Nick Cannon, and has even found a handsome billionaire boyfriend. James Packer and Mariah have been jet-setting to various exotic locales, and are often spotted out at lavish events together, looking smitten and affectionate towards one another in each other’s company.
Reports, however, are surfacing that Mariah isn’t entirely pleased with Packer at the moment, and that the romance is cooling down. Radar Online has shared a claim that Carey , since returning from Asia, has been a bit annoyed by the manner in which Packer directs her. Carey is used to doing the directing, and apparently does not like being bossed, when she herself is such a successful and strong-willed, self-proclaimed diva.
Life & Style shares as to the circumstance that has caused Carey to reportedly be unsure about the relationship.
“Just days after returning from a one-night performance in China, Mariah Carey and boyfriend James Packer are reportedly at odds over their relationship. The 45-year-old songstress allegedly got fed up with her man’s behavior after she felt he was bossing her around.”
The romance between the two took off quickly, and saw the couple spending all of their spare time on one another’s arm. Packer whisked Carey off to a Mediterranean paradise for an extended vacation last summer. Earlier this year, there was even talk of an engagement. In the late summer, James and Mariah even shacked up in a multi-million dollar Malibu beach house for an additional extended stay.
However, even though James is able to offer the world to the super star diva, and has been a wonderful distraction for the singer while likely still dealing with divorce settlements and custody issues between herself and ex Nick Cannon, the relationship is reportedly all of a sudden hitting a rocky patch. A source relayed information as to Carey and Packer’s relationship with Radar Online, and more specifically, in regards to the circumstance that annoyed the star.
“He was barking orders at Mariah like he was her master. Anyone who knows Mariah knows that she does not take kindly to being told what to do! She really felt like she was falling head-over-heels in love with him and now she is just not sure.”
Mariah is obviously not fully won over by the romantic getaways and jet-setting that she and James began their relationship enjoying. As the romance continues, it seems as though Carey is realizing that she and Packer are perhaps not as well-suited for each other as she had originally thought. The source added more on the singer’s relationship needs and realizations.
“It doesn’t matter how much money he has, because it’s not like she is in need of his cash. He did a real good job at buttering her up and making her feel like a princess, but this China trip was a total turning point in the relationship.”
Whether the rumors and reports are, in fact, legitimate, verification has yet to be offered. It certainly would be unfortunate for Carey and Packer to go their separate ways after appearing so happy and comfortable in each other’s presence while at recent red carpet events and on lavish holidays together. Perhaps this reported “rough patch” is merely that, and the couple will continue to go strong on into the new year.
