Mariah Carey is supposedly getting a divorce from Nick Cannon, but papers have not been filed just yet. According to a new report from TMZ , however, it seems like it was Cannon’s decision to end the marriage — and he might seek full custody of the couple’s 3-year-old twins. Apparently Nick feels as though Mariah is in a delicate state of mind — and that his kids aren’t safe.
“Nick has made it clear to all involved [that] he’s deeply concerned about Mariah’s emotional state and is ending the marriage for the well being of their kids. He believes the environment around Mariah is toxic and fears for his kids… Nick believes his kids have already shown signs of emotional upset living with Mariah.”
It definitely sounds like Nick is going to seek custody of his kids — and he may be granted his wishes, especially if he can prove that the children aren’t safe with their mother.
Mariah Carey is expected to file for divorce in the coming weeks, but, as previously reported by The Inquisitr , she didn’t waste any time filing a confidentiality agreement . Just one day after news hit the internet that Nick admitted that there was “trouble in paradise,” Mariah had her lawyer draw up papers that would force Nick to keep his mouth shut. Now, Nick is forbidden to talk about the state of his marriage with the public, and if he does, he could face some pretty hefty fines.
While Nick may not be speaking to the media, sources say he’s been talking to those closest to him about his life and his soon-to-be ex-wife. Apparently Nick is worried about Mariah… and he wants to end things sooner rather than later.
“Nick is also telling his people he’s deeply concerned about Mariah’s mental health and believes her people don’t care about anything but her ability to make money and pay their salaries.”
“Nick is taking a ‘passive’ role in the divorce… telling his lawyers to take the path of least resistance to end things as peacefully as possible.”
Mariah Carey’s divorce is set to be one of the biggest in celebrity split history. And while there might be some rumors out there about the couple trying to “save” their marriage, apparently they are way past that point. A source tells Hollywood Life that Mariah and Nick are not going to marriage counseling.
“[Mariah] feels it’s way out of the realm of comprehension for a counselor. She’s wouldn’t let an outsider into her world like that. Not a chance. She doesn’t trust most people, even professionals.”
The source also added that both Nick and Mariah are taking this split very hard.
