Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon haven’t officially ended their 6-year-old marriage just yet, although it is well known they are living apart. However, the couple have two sweet little reasons to get back together over the holidays: their 3-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan.
According to an interview with In Touch , Nick Cannon is going to spend the holidays with Mariah Carey and their children .
“Gotta keep that going. I want to make sure we have a wonderful holiday together.”
Mariah and Nick will apparently be spending the holidays “somewhere cold and snowy, like Aspen,” Colorado. Hopefully the chill will not extend into the atmosphere between the two when they must spend some quality time with one another in person again.
While Carey may no longer bring a sparkle to Cannon’s eye, his children most certainly do. Nick tries to maintain a good balance with Mariah in order to stay in touch with his twins.
“We talk and text every day. My children are my number one priority. Everything I do is for them. I just want to be the best father I can possibly be.”
It’s been five months since Mariah’s estranged husband announced their separation, but he has been no stranger to speculation as far as dating goes.
“There are a lot of people after me right now,” Mariah Carey’s husband boasted to People . “I gotta slow it down. I’m trying to slow it down and stay focused. Family is the first thing and my kids are most important… Obviously the dating thing will come down the line, but right now I’m just slowing down.”
Mariah seems to be focused on reviving her career and Christmas shopping for her children. Reports claim she has been out shopping for the holidays since November 6.
The holiday shopping for the twins should be easy this year. According to Cannon, their daughter Monroe is “a diva” just like her mother, and loves to sing and dress up, but Moroccan loves to play Angry Birds and other games. However, they are looking for more educational toys for their twins this year.
It is probably unlikely that the time alone together over the holidays with their children could put a spark back in their stalemate marriage. It is clear that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are entirely devoted to the happiness of their children even if they aren’t exactly devoted to their marriage.
