Margaret Cho has been added to Tina Fey’s new Fox show, scheduled to begin production this March. The comedy, about an all women’s college allowing men in for the first time, received a full series commitment from the network. Margaret Cho has been hired to play the president of the fictional “Cabot College”.

Cho is a female comedian who has been around for a while . Her most recent roles have included an Emmy nomination for guest actress in a comedy while playing the North Korean duo of Kim Jong-Il and his son, Kim Jong-Un on 30 Rock . Tina Fey must have enjoyed working with Margaret Cho so much, she decided to give her a featured role in the new comedy.

The yet to be named comedy also features 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation writer, Matt Hubbard . Hubbard has been nominated for three Emmy’s and won the Emmy for outstanding writer in a comedy in 2009. His work with Tina Fey on 30 Rock is considered by many as some of the best comedy writing and performing in years.

Fox won the bidding wars against the other networks to have access to Tina Fey’s new project. Continuing the trend of moving away from piloting shows , they will start with a full season slated. Margaret Cho’s character will be named Laura Thibault and is the one responsible for carrying Cabot College through the change of admitting boys into their all girls college. Bonnie Dennison and Jack Cutmore-Scott join Cho as the stars of the show. Dennison plays the feminist leader of Cabot College who is not pleased with the admission of men to her school. Cutmore-Scott, a broadway actor, plays a social elitist who has been admitted into the school. The comedy will use a multi-camera shooting method (think Big Bang Theory ) rather than single camera ( 30 Rock ).

Margaret Cho is sure to bring a level of wit and sarcasm to the show. The Korean-American actress began her career in stand up comedy, eventually earning time on Comedy Central. Over time she worked her way into movies and television, both in serious roles and comedies. Cho has also written and released songs, produced art, and written several books.

The rest of the cast is still being filled out, but as recent history has proven, almost anything Tina Fey touches is gold . Margaret Cho and the other cast members will certainly be surrounded by some of the best comedy talent in television. The question is, can they deliver?
