Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Meryl Davis maintain that they are not dating, but, in a new interview, Maks admitted what most of us already knew: That he connected with Meryl on another level. According to The Seattle Times, the former Dancing With The Stars pro said that his reasons for leaving the show were quite simple. He really just wanted to win once, and he wants to end his time on the show on the highest note possible.
“I just don’t want to replace Meryl and this experience with anyone else — it’s so dear to me, so special, so much emotion involved into it. There’s nobody out there that I think will come along that I will be able to connect with on this level… I don’t want to win five, six, seven times, I just want to win once. It couldn’t be more perfect.”
Maksim Chmerkovskiy actually retweeted the article written about him and Meryl Davis, saying that the writer of the piece actually got it right. Perhaps Maks was referring to the countless rumors about him and Meryl and their “relationship.”

It is beyond clear that Maks and Meryl have a close friendship — whatever they had together on the dance floor really transpired into something beautiful off the dance floor, even if it is not something romantic. The two still keep in touch. In fact, they just hung out last weekend. According to The Inquisitr , Maks and Meryl had breakfast together last weekend, and Maks posted a selfie of them on Instagram.
Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Meryl Davis have a lot of fans, and there are plenty of people who would love to hear that the two have taken their relationship to another level, but Maks has made things quite clear: He and Meryl had something so special, and their friendship seems to mean so much more to him than any rumor or any television show. For him to experience one of the best moments of his life with Meryl by his side, well there really isn’t anything that compares. The two will be in each other’s lives for many years to come.
According to Kpopstarz , Maks won’t dance again (on television) without Meryl Davis. Could this mean that the duo will make a surprise guest appearance on Dancing With The Stars next season? Wouldn’t that be great?!
