Macklemore, who became a father in May, shared a sweet snap on Instagram of a father-daughter nap, reports Entertainment Tonight . The photo, which featured Macklemore sleeping next to his swaddled daughter during a daytime nap, was captioned, “There is nothing better.”

Certainly for Macklemore, who has called his daughter “the love of [his] life,” there is nothing better than a quiet nap with the adorable infant. Sloane, who is nearing 5-months-old, was born in May of this year, but Macklemore waited until August to announce the news that he fathered a little girl with wife Tricia Davis.

Macklemore unveiled the happy news when he revealed a new track inspired by the little girl, called “Growing Up (Sloane’s Song),” which features singer Ed Sheeran, reports Entertainment Tonight .

When he released the new song as a free download on his website, Macklemore confessed that he was full of “the joy and happiness that comes from bringing a baby into this universe.” Macklemore also revealed that Sloan, who is the singer’s first child, has “filled my heart in ways that I never knew were possible. She is the love of my life.”

Macklemore thanked his fans “for being patient,” confiding that “this year has been incredible so far, we love you,” before announcing the new single.

Macklemore, who is a four-time Grammy Award winner, according to Access Hollywood , announced the birth of his infant daughter over Instagram, sharing a stunning black and white photo that featured Macklemore himself cradling the newborn. Macklemore also announced that he married Sloane’s mother on “June 27th once the Supreme Court ruled same sex couples could too.”

Catching a nap seems to be a frequent occurrence for the father/daughter duo, and when Sloane visited dad on the set of his “Downtown” video shoot, Macklemore was caught taking a brief nap with the little girl during a break. In the Instagram snap, Macklemore rests on a couch while baby Sloane catches a cat nap on top of dear old dad.

The “Downtown” video has been viewed over has been viewed more than 11 million times on YouTube, reports Rolling Stone , so clearly baby Sloane is something of a good luck charm!

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone , Macklemore revealed that he’s “feeling great” about his new album, which features the single “Downtown.” According to the rapper, The Heist follow-up “has a diversity of sounds and textures and concepts. We’ve been able to take our time with it, and it’s a great feeling to get to that point.”

Macklemore, who is also a Seattle Seahawks fan, makes sure his Instagram account isn’t just about catching a cat nap. He recently shared a photo of his daughter decked out in the necessary Seattle Seahawks fan gear.

He captioned the adorable photo, which features Sloane in a tiny blue Seahawks jersey , “Sloanes first football game… Go Hawks!!!” as the infant rests in sitting position to watch the game, instead of taking a nap.”

Macklemore, who has overcome substance abuse issues in recent years after being sober since 2008, has said that although he shares photos of his daughter over social media, his fans reactions to a cat nap with Sloane doesn’t define him. After struggling with an addiction relapse after suddenly rising to fame, Macklemore takes a more sensible approach.

In an interview with Rolling Stone , Macklemore revealed that negative comments might make him pause to think “[w]here’s the negative stuff? How valid is the criticism?” but Macklemore has learned that “what people think of me is none of my business.” Macklemore confides if “I live on the Internet looking for public approval, I’m going to be miserable.”

Clearly, whatever people think of the photos of dad and Sloan catching a nap together won’t effect Macklemore, but fans love the snaps nonetheless!
