Liverpool are considering plotting an advance for Hoffenheim midfielder Firmino, who scored against Venezuela in Brazil’s 2-0 on Sunday. The move comes after the Reds were put off from activating Christian Benteke’s release fee of £32.5 million.

Liverpool are confident that they can afford the Brazilian playmaker as they continue to prepare for the increasing likelihood that Raheem Sterling will join Manchester City this summer.

Along with Firmino, Liverpool has signaled their intent of signing Solomon Rondon and Carlos Bacca, both currently away on international duty at the Copa America in Chile. The trio represents Liverpool’s attempt to return to winning ways after a barren campaign last season which saw them only qualifying for the Europa League.

According to The Telegraph , Liverpool are turning their attentions to the Juventus striker Fernando Llorente and Sevilla’s Carlos Bacca after refusing to meet the £32.5?million release fee to sign Christian Benteke from Aston Villa. Llorente is expected to be made available by the Italian champions, who are reshaping their attack this summer and signing Atlético Madrid’s Mario Mandzukic, while Sevilla have insisted, so far, that Bacca is not for sale.

Firmino, Bacca and Clyne are the kind of signings who would make us competitive again next season. Whether we get them is another question.

It would also signal an intent to possibly sell three of the current four strikers within the team at the moment. Daniel Sturridge is still seen as an integral part of Liverpool team however, Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini, and Rickie Lambert could be made available at a cut rate price in order to create room for additional firepower.

Italian strikers Fabio Borini and Mario Balotelli have been linked to a move back to Italy while Rickie Lambert could be on his way to newly promoted Bournemouth. Meanwhile, Liverpool have been busy throughout the summer. In addition of James Milne and Danny Ings, Liverpool has completed the signing of Charlton Athletic’s Joe Gomez. The English under 19 international has been highly-rated by many, however it is unlikely that the youngster will be given a regular place in the starting eleven
