Lisa Marie Presley has been moonlighting as a vendor of fish and chips near the sleepy British town she lives in. It seems that Elvis Presley’s daughter is enjoying her time in England more so than she did in Los Angeles.
Presley, 44, and her guitarist husband, Michael Lockwood, have been embracing local life since they moved to Rotherford, England two years ago, reports The New York Daily News .
Lisa Marie’s secret adventure into the land of fish and chip vending happened thanks to her friends, Kim and Justin Scales, who own and operate the business.
Kim also runs a local pub, the Kings Arms, and the singer/songwriter was eager to don an apron and help out by serving people. She stated:
“She likes to see how we live and experience it. We were laughing because the customers didn’t know it was her. She really enjoyed it. Whatever she says she is going to do, she does it. It was the funniest thing. We all did this run and no one knew who she was.”
The Daily Mail notes that when Lisa Marie Presley worked at the mobile fish and chip van, the locals didn’t even realize who she was. The gig was perfect for Elvis’s daughter, who is a big fan of traditional English food, loving nothing more than fish and chips with a pint of Guinness.
However, if the singer/songwriter wants a full-time job at the mobile van, she may be out of luck. When asked if she would employ Presley, Scales joked, “No way! She got the fish all upside down and was totally cack-handed.”
Despite her glamorous upbringing, Lisa Marie Presley is enjoying her quiet lifestyle with her husband and three of her four children.
