Lionel Messi has a long and storied history of scoring sublime solo goals for Barcelona that leave his opponents embarrassingly traipsing on the floor.
And against Bayern Munich, Messi was at his imperious best as he teased and ridiculed Jerome Boateng with his soccer ability, leaving him on the grass as he progressed to score the second of his two goals as Barcelona ran out winners by 3 goals to nil in the Champions League semi-final first leg.

Immediately after Lionel Messi had scored the above goal the internet started to react, and they made sure to make Jerome Boateng the center of their abuse — making fun of his attempt to try and stop the Argentinian soccer icon.
In fact, according to 101 Great Goals , Jerome Boateng’s Wikipedia page was cruelly altered to state that the defender’s “Place of death” was Camp Nou, Barcelona, Spain, and that he perished on May 6, 2015 (aged 26).
But that was only the start of it, because the internet was soon lit up with a cavalcade of posts each of which poked fun at Boateng and his defending.

In fact, Lionel Messi’s teammate Javier Mascherano summed up his performance pretty aptly after the contest, telling Sky Sports , via ESPN , “We have Messi and that is a big advantage. It’s a player that is impossible to describe. You just have to watch him. We are happy because he helped us to get the result.”
Messi’s two goals against Bayern Munich helped leapfrog the Argentinian above Cristiano Ronaldo in the all-time Champions League goal-scorers rankings, a position that the Portuguese forward had held for just one day.
