The girls in the Lingerie Football League will soon be stripping out of their sexy uniforms. But no, it isn’t about to become the nude football league.
The LFL announced today that it was changing its name to the Legends Football League and that the players will no longer be wearing lingerie. Instead, the girls will use more traditional football uniforms as well as more protective pads.
According to a press release , the Lingerie Football League will see several changes as it becomes the Legends Football League. The league will replace “all linger aspects of the uniform” with performance wear, create new logos without sexy female figures, redesign the shoulder pads and start using the new taglines “True Fantasy Football” to “Women of the Gridiron.”
Mitchell S. Mortaza, Founder & Chairman, Lingerie Football League, said:
“This is the next step in the maturation of our now global sport. While the Lingerie Football League name has drawn great media attention allowing us to showcase the sport to millions, we have now reached a crossroad of gaining credibilty as a sport or continuing to be viewed as a gimmick. In the coming years we will further establish this sport in the US, Australia, Europe and Asia as the most known form of American football globally. In order to reach the next milestone, we feel the focus has to be the sport and our amazing athletes.”
The Lingerie Football League has received press over the last few years mainly because of its scantily clad players so it will be interesting to see how the move pays off. Do you think people will still pay attention to the LFL now that the lingerie has been removed for the game?
