Rupert Sanders’ ex-wife Liberty Ross is opening up about the cheating scandal that rocked her marriage. In 2012, photos turned up of her husband kissing his leading actress Kirsten Stewart . At the time, most of the attention was put on Stewart and her then-boyfriend, Twilight star Robert Pattinson.
This was only exacerbated when Stewart released a public apology to Pattinson for cheating on him. The couple, who were previously known as a private pair, didn’t survive the scandal, and eventually split. Six months after Us Weekly took the photos public, Liberty Ross filed for divorce from the Snow White and the Huntsman director.
Now with that chaos behind her, Liberty is opening up about the scandal in hopes to help other women to follow their own intuition. For Ross, she told Grazia there’s one very instrumental thing.
“Trusting your gut is always the best thing – no matter what people around you insist you should be doing or saying or thinking. Only you know and once you live in truth your heart is completely free.”
Ross shares custody with her ex-husband Rupert Sanders. The pair has two children, Skyla, 9, and Tennyson, 7.
This isn’t the first time Liberty has opened up. As The Inquisitr reported , earlier in the month Ross spoke about forgiving Kristen Stewart.
“Unfortunately, we live in a world where everything is so overexposed that it’s actually terrifying. I was horrified at how relentless and extraordinary going through something like that was. I was able to go and be somewhere secluded for a good month. And then when school went back, I had no choice but to be as strong a woman as I could be for the children.
“People need to learn to forgive. I have no problem with anyone involved. I’m completely compassionate, I really am. No life is perfect, we all have our problems and issues and I believe that it’s good to be true to who you are.”
Since the cheating scandal happened, Stewart immediately parted ways with Sanders, and did her best to win back her boyfriend Pattinson. Liberty, meanwhile, focused on her children.
As for a sequel to the Snow White and The Huntsman , after months of speculation on whether or not it would be made, Universal decided to pull the plug on the Snow White arc, and instead decided to focus on Chris Hemsworth’s Huntsman. As expected, Rupert isn’t returning to direct the sequel.
