Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson hit the Brits red carpet last night and took to the stage a couple of times both to present and receive awards. The One Direction members attended the show and picked up the Best Video award for “Drag Me Down” on behalf of all four guys. Liam and Louis said they felt that it was important to turn up to thank the fans who voted for the band, as reported by Daily Mail.
The guys gave a couple of great interviews. Liam Payne admitted that he was tipsy and that he filled his “thank you” speech with the names of companies, forgetting to thank his family! Liam then rationalized the omission, saying “they know” and reflecting that the guys’ love for their families is obvious and crystal clear. Liam also reflected that he and Louis always get stuck giving the awards night “thank you” speeches on behalf of One Direction — perhaps the Wolverhampton hunk is starting to feel like a broken record thanking all the same people all the time, and maybe he wanted to mix things up a bit for One Direction’s sixth Brit award win.
Louis appeared to comment on the absence of Harry Styles and Niall Horan and on the Brits win on the cusp of a One Direction break. Louis described the feeling of accepting the award as poignant.
It’s kind of really poignant…the other boys aren’t here.
In another funny interview Louis jested about Liam’s “immaturity.”
Payne admitted to having drunk enough “for all four” members of One Direction and kept cutting in on Louis when he was trying to thank the fans.
There was a moment when Louis stuttered slightly as he said the word “do,” and Liam seized on it, making a juvenile joke that it sounded like Louis just said “doo-doo.” Liam exited the interview grinning soon after, but Louis and the interviewer carried on without him.
When Liam returned, Louis jokingly mocked him for his immaturity. Liam countered that Louis is “a dad now” and must have clearly overtaken his bandmates in the maturity department.
Louis took the opportunity to remind his bandmate that he might be a dad, but he is still cool.
“I’m daddy cool.”
After the ceremony, Louis stopped in at the Sony Music UK after party, where he was photographed in a car with some members of Little Mix.

The absence of Harry Styles and Niall Horan drew much commentary from both fans and the media, with Metro among those publishing headlines in the lead-up to the ceremony asking why Harry would not join his bandmates even though he was close by in London.
Harry reportedly isn’t interested in attending the glitzy awards ceremony which takes place at the O2 later on today.
And his band mate Niall Horan could miss the event too as he is on holiday in Thailand.
Louis Tomlinson, apparently flying in from LA where he has been with son Freddie, and Liam Payne are set to attend to present an award on the night, according to The Sun .
Louis and Liam did not reveal any details about the other One Direction guys’ absence, but they did joke that they might auction Harry and Niall’s awards because they were not sure what else to do with them.
Hopefully the awards will be delivered to Harry and Niall, who have definitely won a lot of Brits but surely couldn’t have reached the stage where they toss statuettes in the rubbish like used dental floss?

Louis Tomlinson was also captured on film talking about son Freddie with a smile, saying it’s the first time he’s been away from his boy.
Louis and songwriting partner Liam Payne confirmed that they have been writing together recently.
