The LG Optimus 3D Max rolled out in Europe on Monday, marking the first region to receive the 3D capable smartphone that offers several upgrades over the first-generation version of the device.

The new 3D Max features a slightly faster 1.2GHz TI OMAP dual-core processor that now offers 3D movie editing capabilities. The device also allows 3D games to be converted into 3D in real-time while offering the same type of 3D capabilities for Google Earth and other mapping applications.

First shown off at Mobile World Congress the device also offers a 4.3-inch 3D WVGA display created with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 which is super tough and even more scratch resistant. The device also comes equipped with a rather small 8GB of internal storage but features a microSD expansion slot that can provide up to 64GB of added memory.

The LG Optimus 3D Max also comes equipped with a pair of stereoscopic 3D cameras that offer 5-megapixel resolution alongside a front-facing VGA camera for self portrait taking and video calling. All of the devices features then connect to HSPA+ data networks with 21Mbps support, not quite the 4G LTE we were hoping for but still a decent data offering.

The phone is also equipped with NFC (near-field communications) technology and that tech works with LG’s Tag+ system which allows for fast switching device settings.

All of the Optimus Max 3D’s new options are then wrapped up nicely in a design that is actually 2mm slimmer than the first-generation of the device.
