Lana Del Rey may believe that she is “not fashionable to love,” but her fans have recently shown that the opposite is true. Unfortunately, at the same time she is receiving praise from America, the U.K. media is speaking out about Lana Del Rey’s smoking habit as being rather unfashionable and unlovable.
Whether they like her relationship with cigarettes or not, Lana Del Rey has been rewarding her loyal fans with snippets from her upcoming Honeymoon album that is due to be released in September, according to Pitchfork .
About the latest Lana Del Rey teaser, Cosmopolitan stated on June 26, “ Honeymoon… will include about nine new tracks [Lana Del Rey] was working on…. ‘We both know that it’s not fashionable to love me,’ Lana Del Rey captioned the [second Honeymoon teaser video].”

Adding to the reviews about Lana Del Rey’s Honeymoon sample, Music Feeds states, “We also know that Honeymoon will contain… a cover of Nina Simone’s ‘Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood’ with production from pop maestro, Rick Nowels and maybe even Mark Ronson.”
Despite all of Lana Del Rey’s success in America, in the U.K. — they are more concerned about her health. When discussing the 2014 Glastonbury Festival, Lana Del Rey’s name was brought up in association to her repeated habit of smoking cigarettes on stage.
When referencing another performer that likes to smoke while making music, the Telegraph points out, “Let’s remember the controversy of 2014 when Lana Del Rey (of all people) decided to have a cigarette while on stage.”
About the 2014 incident, one fan was quoted by the Mirror as stating the following about Lana Del Rey.
“I love Lana Del Rey but she’s performing at Glastonbury with cigarette in her hand, and what kind of example is that setting younger fans?”
Sadly, Lana Del Rey’s smoking on stage in 2014 was not her only U.K.-related cigarette shaming. In 2012, after Lana Del Rey’s career was starting to flourish, she was called out by the Daily Mail for lighting up after a BBC6 interview in London.
Back in America, fans are less concerned about Lana Del Rey smoking cigarettes and more focused on how she is blazing trails to the top of the U.S. music charts.
On June 26, Billboard Magazine announced their mid-year reader polls — and Lana Del Rey was a favorite many times over. Not only is Lana Del Rey’s Honeymoon the number one most-anticipated album of 2015, but she is also top in three other categories.
Namely, Lana Del Rey leads at number one for Best Festival Performance and Best Style. The only other category where Lana Del Rey is included (but not at number one) is the Best Tour list, where she is one-upped by One Direction.
