Kylie Jenner is sparking rumors that she is engaged after sharing a picture that showed off a shiny rock on her ring finger.
Kylie shared the picture with her Instagram followers without comment, prompting many to speculate that her boyfriend Jaden Smith may have popped the question .
Fame, the agency responsible for the photograph, even fueled some of the Kylie Jenner engagement rumors with a caption that read:
“Rumors are starting to swirl that Kylie’s boyfriend Jaden Smith proposed to Kylie after she recently posted an instagram photo of herself wearing a ring!”
The picture shows Kylie Jenner standing in front of a mirror, snapping the picture with a red smartphone. On her left ring finger is a visible ring, though the front is turned to the back just enough to obscure whether it has any diamonds or what size they might be.
It would appear that Kylie Jenner is showing off the ring in the photo.
While it would seem unusual that the 16-year-old Kylie Jenner would be engaged, she and Jaden Smith have definitely moved their relationship forward quickly. In May, Kylie had Jaden fly out to Europe for her sister Kim Kardashian’s wedding to Kanye West. They were later spotted making out during the reception at the Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy, a source told E! News .
But other outlets note that the engagement ring photo could just be a publicity stunt, which would not be unusual for the Kardashian/Jenner clan. Many believe that Kim’s short-lived marriage to NBA star Kris Humphries was an elaborate bid for attention, and her sisters are also known for having a flair for the dramatic.
Kylie Jenner has already shown that she is jealous of the attention given to her sisters. Sources close to the family claim that Kylie envies the success her older sister Kendall has found in the modeling world, and plans to drop $85,000 for plastic surgery to look like her older sister.
“Kylie’s such a pretty girl, but she’s found it difficult that her sister Kendall’s modelling career has taken off so much more than hers,” an insider told Hea t Magazine . “Kendall is a natural born model. Kylie says she’s happy for her but, behind the scenes, all her friends know she’s jealous.”
Others are casting doubt on whether Will and Jada Smith, who have a reputation as not terribly strict parents, would still find it appropriate for their teenage son to get engaged.
Neither Jaden Smith nor Kylie Jenner have addressed the engagement rumor.
