In September, it was reported that plans had been scrapped for a third Sex and the City movie, after plans fell through to bring the stars back together again, in part because one of the series’ leading ladies no longer wanted to participate in another sequel. The ladies behind the series also confirmed the news across social media, with Kristin Davis sharing her disappointment that the third film would not be happening.
Prior to the 2017 Princess Grace Awards Gala, which Davis hosted, the actress was asked about the change of plans when it came to Sex and the City 3 and a potential reunion of the cast. According to E! News , it would seem that there may still be hope for fans after all that a special project could happen.
Kristin Davis started out by saying that she is truly grateful for all of the support that she has received from the fans. The actress also shared that she knows that her co-stars feel the same way. Davis said that besides the support of their fans, they are all grateful for the love that they have for each other and that they can count on one another. Kristin Davis then went on to say “maybe we’ll figure out something to do, I don’t know, it would be great.”

The actress said that she believes that Sex and the City has been “a positive thing all the way around.” Kristin Davis did say that she was saddened by the fact that they were not going to be doing the planned sequel. However, at the same time, she acknowledged that there has been a lot of support from the fans, which she is grateful for.

With a third Sex and the City movie off the table, Kristin Davis said it is hard because this has been a part of their lives for a very long time. The actress said that the entire experience has been an incredible journey for not only herself, but also her co-stars. As Davis pointed out, they “have a franchise that we built over 20 years almost for 4 leading women which is almost unheard of.”
Although plans for Sex and the City 3 may have fallen through, if Kristin Davis has her way, there may still be hope for something special for the fans. For now though, there are still six seasons and two movies for fans to rewatch in order to relive the many adventures and dramas that the characters engaged in.
