Kim Richards, who was fired from the set of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills , was reportedly forced into rehab hospital by concerned family members, Celeb Dirty Laundry reports . The 50-year-old troubled reality TV star has fallen back into old habits just one month after checking out out of rehab in July, according to Us Weekly .
“Her family checked her in,” a source told Us Weekly . “She wants to get out ASAP, but her family refuses.”
Although Kim Richards was admitted to the hospital, her stay didn’t last long, and the star has now been released, a source allegedly confirmed to E! News .
“There are people in the family who wish she had stayed in rehab longer,” an insider was quoted as saying. “They weren’t happy she chose to leave early.”
Kim Richards’ hospital stay comes just a few days after she was arrested for allegedly shoplifting. TMZ reported that the actress was arrested last Sunday afternoon in a Target store in Van Nuys, California, and then was moved to a police station.
According to the report, she tried to steal a “bunch of items” worth more than $600. Kim Richards regained her freedom on Monday after posting $5,000 bail, police said.
Kim Richards , whose addictions were addressed on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills , was also arrested in April and charged with public intoxication and assault on a police officer.
When Richards left a rehabilitation center in July, she told Entertainment Tonight that she looked forward to a sober life.
“I love sobriety,” she said. “I’ve always loved sobriety, and relapsing was very hard for me. It was not easy. I have to say, don’t take this wrong, but I really wanted to go to treatment because I needed a break from what I was going through at home.”
She also told ET’s Nischelle Turner that she had been sober for more than 30 days.
“I went in and I got to learn a whole lot about myself,” she told Turner. “I dug deep into my past, things that happened to me as a child, good and bad, teenage years, relationships with all my loved ones, where they need to be mended, where they’re very powerful. I worked on me.”
Kim Richards is the sister of Kyle Richards, the other star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills , and she is the aunt of socialites Nicky and Paris Hilton.
