Kim Richards has been silent since her August 2 shoplifting arrest, but her ex-husband, Monty Brinson, has been extremely active on social media. In his latest post, Brinson, who has lived with Kim Richards on and off for the last year, shared the following message with fans.
“My last thought for the week. A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future. And accepts you today the way you are. And now on a personal note from the bottom of my heart I’m so grateful and thankful for all the thousands text, emails, Instagram comments for the all the prayers, love and support you have given me and I believe why I am still here. To spread love to others who may be going through a hard time their self.”
As fans of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have seen, Kim Richards’ ex-husband was diagnosed with cancer and given just months to live over one year ago. Then, earlier this summer, he was given just weeks to live, but again, he’s outlived his doctor’s predictions. Throughout his battle, Brinson has had the support of Kim Richards, the mother of his daughter, Brooke, and the two lived together for months at the rental home fans saw on the show. They also reportedly lived together at the home of Kathy Hilton up until recently.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Kim Richards’ arrest came as a complete shock to Monty Brinson, who told Entertainment Tonight there must have been some sort of misunderstanding. During his interview, which took place just days after Kim Richards’ arrest, Brinson offered the following statement .
“I couldn’t imagine Kim stealing or shoplifting anything. She is a giver. I am in complete shock. Guaranteed this must be some kind of mistake, and the facts will come out soon. She was arrested for shoplifting toys in a cart, but this was a clear misunderstanding. This was not alcohol or drug related.”
Kim Richards suffered a relapse earlier this year, which ultimately led to her April 16 arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel. After reportedly becoming highly intoxicated at the venue, she refused to leave, and police were called. When all was said and done, Kim Richards received a number of charges, including public intoxication, resisting an officer, trespassing, and battery on an officer.
Kim Richards is due in court to address a petty theft charge against her on August 20.
