Kid Rock’s Badass Beer is making a comeback. Beginning today, DTE Energy Music Theater will offer the American lager at all eight Kid Rock shows. The beer will be available on draft. The Clarkson, Michigan, venue is selling 12 oz cups for $4.
The eight shows were planned to boost morale and say thank you to fans. With recent news of Detroit’s bankruptcy, the concerts could not have come at a better time. Tickets for the show are only $20.
Kid Rock is originally from a suburb of Detroit, and he has never forgotten his hometown. As reported by LookToTheStars.org, he is involved in numerous Detroit charities , including the Mosaic Youth Theater, Youthville, The Rainbow Connection, and the Made in Detroit Endowed Scholarship.
His own organization, the Kid Rock Foundation, raises and donates money to non-profit organizations nationwide.
Kid Rock also used a local business to produce his Badass Beer. The beer debuted in 2009. It was made at a local microbrewery called Michigan Brewing Company.
Unfortunately, the Michigan Brewing Company filed for bankruptcy and was closed last year.
In an interview with the Reporter Herald, Kid Rock discusses Detroit’s economy:
“We’ve all known what’s going on. It’s a blow, but we’ve been taking blows for years… We’re always propping up Detroit, trying to focus on the good things… ”
Yesterday’s announcement, posted at AmericanBadassBeer.com, explains that the beer will now be made in downtown Detroit. Badass Beer will make its official comeback at tonight’s concert.
Consumers can expect to see the beer in bars and in stores by the end of the year.
Kid Rock’s beer is described as “born out of bushels of American barley and hops harvested straight from the heartland… it’s crafted with care in a place where factories mark one horizon and wild forests mark the next.”
Reasonable ticket prices , and Kid Rock’s beer, will make it possible for a lot of people to enjoy an evening at DTE.
