The Kevin Love trade rumors are kicking up again after the Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors re-opened talks for the All-Star forward.
The teams had initially discussed a trade for Love weeks ago, but reached an impasse when the Wolves reportedly wanted sharpshooter Klay Thompson included in the deal, and the Warriors balked. But now the teams are reportedly meeting face-to-face at the NBA summer league in Las Vegas
The Associated Press noted:
Timberwolves president and coach Flip Saunders was seen talking to Warriors GM Bob Myers at the arena on Sunday as the two sides look to bridge the gaps that caused discussions to stall. The Warriors have been reluctant to include shooting guard Klay Thompson in any package, which has been considered a deal-breaker for the Timberwolves.
It remained unclear if the Warriors have changed their position on Thompson in the new talks.
It was not clear if the new Kevin Love trade rumors mean that talks with the Cleveland Cavaliers had slowed. The Cavs emerged as a strong contender to land Love after LeBron James decided to return to his home state team. Though Love initially declined a trade to the Cavs when it was proposed before the NBA Draft, LeBron’s decision reportedly changed his mind.
But the Wolves also had trouble reaching an agreement with the Cavaliers. Sources close to the teams claimed that the Wolves insisted that this year’s No. 1 pick Andrew Wiggins be included in the deal , a price that the Cavaliers deemed too steep.
Andrew Wiggins will play in summer league tonight for Cavs. They have no plans to include him in trade talks for Kevin Love, sources said.

Some experts around the NBA believe that the Timberwolves are asking too much in return for their star forward, and that teams may be willing to wait the team out until the season begins in the hopes that the price might drop. If that is the case, fans can expect the Kevin Love trade rumors to continue indefinitely.
