This new Kevin James show, which is as yet untitled, features Kevin as a retired police officer who is excited to spend more time with his wife and three children. Apparently, he finds home life to be more exhausting than police work, which is something we can all relate to.

Sony Pictures Television’s Zack VanAmburg and Jamie Erlicht, presidents of programming and production, are also pleased to see the return of Kevin James to prime time TV.

“Kevin is part of our SPT comedy family and we have a rich and successful history together. We are excited for everyone to see this next evolution of Kevin’s family sitcom life and join his fans in celebrating his return to series television.”

None of the other characters have been cast as of yet, as the show is still in its beginning stages. Some people are hopeful that Kevin James and Leah Remini will come together again as a married couple. Certainly, the chemistry between them is evident, and James and Remini are comfortable playing roles opposite one another. For now, there is no word on who will play Mrs. Kevin James on the new series. The following tweet is from a King of Queens fan who posted this adorable video for #ThrowbackThursday.

Though this is his first return to television following the King of Queens, Kevin James has been busy in the movie business these past few years. His latest releases are the animated films Pixels and Hotel Transylvania 2.

One of the most endearing things about Kevin James is his clean humor. According to IMDB, he chooses to act in feel-good movies that he can be proud to show his kids.

“I want to do movies that I’m proud of where my kids, at some point, can see and I can feel comfortable sitting there watching it with them. And just that move people. That make people feel a little bit better about themselves when they leave the theater.”
