It’s easy to get starstruck over celebrities you admire, but has anyone lost a job over it? Well, one disgruntled Kevin Hart fan almost did and is now paying the price for taking a selfie with the comedian turned blockbuster king.
According to TMZ , a bus lady named Genesha Bradley spotted the actor while driving around a bus around LAX. Once she spotted Hart, she jumped off the bus to take a quick picture with Hart. The problem with this scene? She had stopped her LAX shuttle while she was driving a family around. While we don’t know who complained about Bradley’s services, we do know the quick selfie was enough to put her into some hot water.
Due to the photo going viral of Genesha posing with Kevin Hart, she has been put on indefinite suspension and is not collecting pay.
The moment Genesha shared with Kevin Hart was also captured by TMZ on video. In the video the bus driver is over the moon, and is heard saying, “I’m sorry, Y’all!” Right before she hurries back to the bus, Hart is stunned and is heard saying, “She left the bus!” Another man commented on the quick selfie, “Everybody on the bus is going to miss their flight!”
Although she was suspended, the bus driver said that her passengers were fine with her getting off of the bus for a Kevin Hart selfie. In fact, the father of the one family present on the bus was apparently just as shocked as she was by the Kevin Hart sighting.
Some commentators weighed in on whether or not she deserved to be suspended.
“I would have been surprised if she WASN’T fired. Leaving a running bus with passengers on board unattended breaks all kinds of protocols,creating a huge liability for the bus company. You just can’t do that this day and age with social media, let alone the freaking paparazzi standing there recording it.”
Another person disagreed with the punishment. “Harsh. If she was not late for her destination as a result of stopping, I see no need at all for discipline. Life-work balance ought to mean something.”
Another sounded off on Twitter about the bus driver’s actions.
