Well, this almost makes you kinda feel bad for Kelsey Grammer.
The actor- who comes off as a bit smarmy and has some well-known conservative leanings- revealed a very relatable insecurity when talking to Piers Morgan on CNN recently. As you probably know, Grammer recently went through a very contentious, high-profile divorce from now-ex Camille Grammer. And when asked by Morgan why he felt Camille married him in the first place, Grammer mused:
“I think she married me because I was Frasier. I think it was Frasier. You know, he had this great wonderful life … he was stylish … and fabulous, you know, just a little gay … and he was famous. Kelsey Grammer was a different story. You got home and Kelsey Grammer was somebody different.”
But there were other problems, Grammer acknowledged in the tell-all interview. As the marriage dissolved, Grammer’s third wife had no compunction about denigrating her soon-t0-be-ex in the press, which Grammer said hurt a lot. And when the TV star took up with a younger British flight attendant and the couple suffered a miscarriage , Grammer says his wife cruelly commented on the loss publicly. Grammer referred to “that thing about the child we lost … something about it being karma … it’s just disgusting.”
Morgan suggested that the couple both had failings, but Grammer was effusive when discussing his fourth marriage to the flight attendant, Kayte Walsh. He said:
“It was like all the planets had danced together into a segregated charm on our behalf…”
Grammer teared up as he described how he “found a new life.” (Clip below.)
