Katie Holmes dropped a truth bomb on Dawson’s Creek fans recently in an interview with Yahoo! Style , saying she doesn’t think a reunion would work today.
The actress and fashion designer says she doesn’t want the characters from the successful ’90s drama to grow up, and would rather keep them the same age forever.
“I don’t know, does it work today? I don’t want them to grow up. You know, it’s kind of like your parents — they never get out of their fifties, that’s where they are,” Holmes said .
Holmes said she had a lot of fun on the show along with her castmates, largely because it was a more innocent time.
“We just did it, we all enjoyed it. It was of a certain time, it was pre-internet. There was an innocence there.”
Katie made headlines earlier this year when it was reported that she and Jamie Foxx are an item, and various rumors have been flying around the web regarding their status. However, a source told People that the two are just friends and will likely remain that way.
“This is not some intense romance. Jamie and Katie are friends and have been for a long time. They are two adults who are attractive and single, and so apparently conclusions will be drawn. But contrary to those conclusions, they’re not about to run off and make some serious commitment,” the source said .
Katie spoke earlier this year about what it was like to receive so much attention during her split from Tom Cruise, saying she didn’t want that moment in her life to define her.
“I don’t want that moment in my life to define me, to be who I am. I don’t want that to be what I’m known as. I was an actor before, an actor during and an actor now. I don’t have any fear now, I don’t have a lot of rules for myself, and I don’t take myself that seriously,” Katie said.
Holmes, who last year walked away from her fashion line Holmes & Yang, is keeping busy these days with a gig on Showtime’s Ray Donovan . Katie says she was already a fan of the show before the joined the cast, but that doesn’t mean it was easy to step into her role.
“It has been a wonderful experience because the show is already established, I’ve been a fan of the show. My character is a challenge for me because she’s a bit of a femme fatale, which I’ve really never played before. She’s very strong, and she is complicated. I don’t even know how to describe her. But it’s a wonderful experience working with the cast, and I’m really enjoying it,” Katie Holmes said .
